Histograms

Histogram H(x) is a function with the value H equal to the number of samples with the value x.

Example: Let x are sample values in an image. H(0) is the number of samples that exhibit value x=0. H(1) is the number of samples that exhibit value x=1.

Histograms are very useful to asses some basic image properties like contrast (see Lesson 2).
