Repeat the experiments from previous pages for images distorted by various amounts of ringing artifact.
Ringing is a specific type of artifact related to the known Gibbs phenomenon, also associated with certain compression techniques. Ringing occurs at the edges in the image content if a rapid discontinuity of the frequency characteristics is imposed (e.g. filtering with a sharp cut-off filter). In this exercise, ringing is produced artificially, without the usually co-occurrent blurring.
Finaly, compare plots obtained for different distortions.
